About us

A4e India was set up in 2009 as a 100% subsidiary of the A4e Group, UK. A4e India strategically decided to enter the Indian market slowly by first gaining an understanding of the specific requirements of the Indian market. Consequently, one partnership with the Ministry of Rural Development (MORD) as part of the Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) was entered into to train and place rural youth from low-income families across 6 states of India. The project commenced in December 2011 and this partnership with MORD has led to a little over 9,000 youth being trained and the provision of employment opportunities for 75% of these youth in entry-level jobs in hospitality, retail and health care sectors.

In July of 2014, A4e India was acquired by The Skills Academy, a company promoted by two prominent entrepreneurs Mr Pramod Bhasin (Founder of Genpact) and Ms. Pia Singh (Director, DLF Ltd).

A4e India seeks to create a credible, competency based and transparent skills training system in partnership with government and the private sector. We seek to improve the quality of life, particularly of low-income families by providing them access to skills, knowledge and opportunities for sustained employment through an industry demand - led approach. We recognise that this can only be achieved by a combination of providing skills to learners and a long term continuous engagement with both learners and employers.

A4e India is currently working with state governments of Rajasthan, Bihar, UP and Odisha to train over 15,000 learners in the next 2 years.
